Common Reasons for Water Damage

If you are experiencing water damage because of one of the following scenarios, get in touch with us. The sooner you contact us, the sooner we can restore your home or business and prevent dangerous mold from starting.

Flooding from Severe Weather

Large rainfall amounts can accumulate quickly, which can make for an unexpected flood-causing rainstorm once in a while. And when heavy rains fall, it can test your building’s foundation, and depending on where you live, water may seep into your basement. This causes damage to electrical work, your home’s systems and can cause mold to take hold quickly.

Sewer Backups & Problems

It’s all-too common for sewers to backup which can lead to flood damage. Sometimes this can be dangerous because the gray or black water from sewers contain pathogens which can lead to infections and serious illness. Flood damage caused by a sewer backup should be considered an emergency and absolutely dealt with immediately. If you find yourself in this situation, call our water damage experts.

ECO Restoration & Cleaning Services certified technicians will thoroughly inspect your home for contamination and then begin the work to mitigate water damage. Our team is skilled in handling these water emergency situations and will follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure your home or business, as well as your health, is our top priority.

Broken Pipes and Appliance Leaks

Water heaters, faucets and tubs are wonderful modern conveniences, until they begin to leak. Leaking water can seep under floorboards and cause wood damage and mold contamination quickly. If the water damage is caused by a toilet or dishwasher overflowing, you have the potential for pathogen contamination and an environment for spreading illness as well as costly property damage.

Firefighting Runoff

If your home or business had a fire and firefighters were called to the scene, you may not only be dealing with fire damage but significant water damage as well. ECO Restoration & Cleaning Services teams specialize in water removal, along with water and fire damage restoration services. We can get your home or business back to its pre-loss condition so you can get back to your normal life and business.

Our Restoration Process

We will get your home or business clean and restored as quickly as possible using the following steps:

Step 1: Inspection and Damage Assessment

Once our team of skilled technicians arrive, they will immediately get to work. We start by thoroughly inspecting your property and assessing your property and water damage. We will determine the source of the water in your home or business and stop it. We will also identify what type of water it is (white, gray or black water) and if there is any concern for contamination.  Once we have all of this information, we can develop an appropriate plan of action for cleanup and restoration.

Step 2: Water Removal

Our initial water extraction will remove the majority of water from your home or place of business. By getting rid of as much water in this step as we can, we greatly reduce the drying time and help prevent mold and secondary water damage. Our pumps and truck-mounted vacuum units are capable of quickly extracting thousands of gallons of water if necessary.

If your property requires extensive restoration, we will itemize your belongings, carefully pack them and move them off-site where they will be safely stored until the water damage is mitigated and cleanup is completed.

Should your property contain carpeting, we will then inspect it and the underlying pad to determine if they will need to be removed to protect the subfloor.

Step 3: Drying and Dehumidification

Now that the major water has been removed and your items have been stored away safely, we can begin the drying process. Most building materials, such as wood and drywall, are very porous and they will retain a good amount of water. If not dealt with in a timely manner, these materials can begin to swell, warp and break. And not to mention that insufficient drying can allow mold to take hold.

ECO Restoration & Cleaning Services uses special equipment to begin water damage restoration. We remove the excess moisture even in hard-to-reach areas. We will carefully track moisture levels and monitor progress.

Step 4: Cleaning and Sanitizing

Once your property is properly dried, we will give it a thorough cleaning and sanitizing. Standing water damage may also require odor removal and deodorizing treatments.

Step 5: Restoration and Replace

Once your home or office is back to looking and smelling like new, we will restore any minor issues, such as drywall or carpeting, or major issues like floor joists and walls. Once all restoration is complete, we can then begin to move your furniture and personal belongings back into your home or office.
